Mafia 2 Mobile: The Ultimate Review
Mafia II Mobile is a top-down shooter for mobile phones, developed by Twistbox Entertainment and Oasys Mobile, and published by Connect2Media, released in August 2010. The game is set in 1938 and follows the story of Marco Russotto, nephew of Vincenzo and a soldato of the now fallen Salieri Crime Family. He travels to Empire Bay and finds work with the Falcone Crime Family as he seeks revenge on Tommy Angelo for betraying the Salieri family. The game has 17 chapters altogether.
Mafia II: Collector's Edition is a steelbook which includes 9 items: Made Man Pack (two classic luxury automobiles and two "made man" suits, including a vintage tuxedo), Art Book (photo album-style about the design process of the game), CD of the Orchestral Soundtrack (recorded by the Prague FILMHarmonic Orchestra), and a Map of Empire Bay. Mafia II: Digital Deluxe Edition is effectively the same as the physical edition, inclusive of the Made Man Pack, as well as digitalized versions of the soundtrack, art book and map.[33]

A version of Mafia II was developed for mobile phones by Twistbox Games and published by Oasys Mobile; the iOS version was published Connect2Media.[36][37] Instead of being a direct adaptation of Mafia II, the game bridges the gap between it and its predecessor, taking place largely in 1938. The story centers around Marco Russotto, a soldato in the Salieri crime family and the nephew of the family's gunsmith Vincenzo, who travels to Empire Bay to find and kill Tommy Angelo, the protagonist of the first Mafia game, for his betrayal of the family. The game features two possible endings, but only one is canon and leads into the events of Mafia II.
The most negative review came from John Teti of Eurogamer who gave the game a 4/10 and wrote that "Mafia II gets the last word by destroying the myth that the mafia is interesting at all. It contends that the mob world is a hell of boredom populated by aggressively stupid automatons. These drones wake up each morning, carry out a series of repetitious tasks, and return home."[48]
Mafia II will both benefit from and suffer from inevitable comparisons, and the release date will be the best and worst thing to happen to the game. With the shadow of Red Dead Redemption still looming, fans of the open world genre hungry for more will likely flock to a mafia-inspired game, but the depth and surprises that made RDR (and Grand Theft Auto IV before that) such a hit, are noticeably missing from Mafia II.
If you missed the original game, Mafia II is a sequel to the award winning 2002 PC hit Mafia: City of Lost Heaven by Illusion Softworks, the company that eventually became 2K Czech. There was also a PS2 and an Xbox port that was graphically nerfed to meet the system limitations for each system. Mafia II, while building off the themes of the original, is its own game, with no direct connection between the two. If you played and liked the first game, you might be surprised to see the shift in tone from the original that romanticized the 1930s mafia life, to the darker and more realistic world of Mafia II.
...you store that car, of course. Mafia II allows gamers to store a limited number of automobiles in various garages strewn throughout Empire Bay. These garages should be utilized for multiple reasons. Not only does storing a car make it available on the fly later, but it also allows you to store cars that are great for very specific situations. For instance, you may want a couple of fast, light cars for getaways and the like, while bulkier cruisers will help you withstand mobile gun battles. Keep in mind that cars can be repaired and upgraded at your garages, as well, so no car's condition or statistics are ever static. Hang on to these cars, and they will no doubt end up serving you well.

Mafia 2: Definitive Edition tells a classic period piece mob story. Players take on the role of Vito Scaletta, who gets wrapped up in Empire City's organized crime after the mafia helps him get out of his World War 2 military service. Conflict erupts between rival gangs, and Vito very quickly finds himself over his head. The Mafia 2 story was great when the game originally launched in 2010, and it's just as engrossing in Mafia 2: Definitive Edition.
Italy is labelled with the keywords "pizza, mafia, pasta, scooters". Explanatory notes and pictures explaining the keyword "mafia" show a parking sign stating "Mafia parking only - all others will be dealt with" (in English, a common Photoshopped fake), and claim that Mafia's activities represent 10% of the country's GDP.
@Bamila I have the directors cut on ps3 myself and never really got into it either, I also played it briefly and never played it again, so I don't know if I could attempt to play it a second time on the ps4 tbh but I'm curious about mafia remake if it will be better or not ?
Anyone else got mafia 3 and played after it got patched to the definitive edition, they've ***** that up as well, I have it on the xbox one x and good grief it's a mess this patch has suddenly introduced blurry textures, slowdown, pop in and unresponsive controls, mafia 3 is one of my favourite games love the soundtrack and they've wrecked it,anyone else noticed it?
